Why are you interested in this game?: This game's premise reminds me a lot of "Infinity Train" and while I was watching the series I thought, "Man, this would make a really cool premise for a Dreamwidth game!" And just like that, it's almost like I manifested this game into existence. I also have never played a character in Akira's situation— a once good guy gone sour. Usually I play protagonists that are already good guys that don't need redemption, so I'd love to try playing someone who has grown so bitter to see how well he can progress!

Abilities:
Transformation: Akira has a demon form which makes him taller and bigger all around and gives him easier access to all of his abilities.
Speed: Akira is quicker than the average human on both land and in the sky.
Regeneration (nerfed): He has the ability to regenerate entire limbs but I'll be completely nerfing this ability in Polymythos.
Flight: In both human and demon form, Akira has access to a pair of bat wings that enables him to fly.
Heat Beam: He can shoot rays of heat from his palms that he can control; sometimes he can catch objects on fire with these beams or something simple like thawing an object out.
Laser Beam: Akira can shoot a laser from the middle of his head that is similar to Superman's laser vision. It can meld and burn things.
Close Combat: Most of the time, he participates in close combat, as his demon instinct loves to indulge in fighting.
Firebreathing: Like a dragon, Akira can breathe fire and actually uses this ability on humans when he has realized they have killed the people most precious to him.
Enhanced Senses: Akira can hear, see and smell better than the average human. He can also sense the presence of other demons.
Super Strength: He's incredibly strong. Maybe not completely OP, but stronger than someone may think just by looking at him.
Questionnaire:
1. What do they care deeply about? What kind of loyalties, commitments, moral codes, life philosophies, passions, callings or spirituality and faith do they have? How do these tend to be expressed?
So, Akira has gone through a lot and has changed drastically in his series alone. He was once a virtuous, self-sacrificing and protective hero who wanted nothing more than to protect humans from their impending doom. Akira offers himself to be melded with a powerful demon named Amon in hopes of gaining his abilities to fight for mankind. He succeeds, and most of the manga tells his story of protecting humans. However, because of war and fearmongering, humans turn on each other and eventually kill the people he is closest to. This, my friends, causes a dramatic shift in his personality and effects his philosophy altogether. Akira considers the human race to now be disgusting, more monstrous than demons themselves and becomes apathetic as to whether or not they become extinct or not. To paraphrase, Akira once cared about justice, but now he's become bitter and mistrusting of anyone, but specifically those that identify as humans. He has no passion, no moral codes, no callings anymore... he's just really, really depressed and cold from his specific canon point. Akira also has been crushed by a wave of self loathing, having blamed himself for not being there to protect the Makimura family when they were brutally murdered. Akira cares about people and will become incredibly loyal to those who fit into a "found family" category for him, granted that he ever opens up himself to be available to those kind of familial relationships again (another thing for him to work on!)
2. What kind of person could they become in the future? What are some developmental paths that they could take: best, worst, most likely?
Best case scenario: Akira will develop CR that will gain his trust again. Those fond memories of having people to protect will make him react in situations where he might sacrifice himself for someone he cares about or do what he can to protect them. He will come to terms with the idea that not all people are bad and not everything that is terrible that happened to him is his fault. He will see others and their failures and understand that everyone has failures. Ideally, I want him to take this direction and revert back to the good person he once was, if not even better from learning through his hardships. He's made a decision that he doesn't want to go back home because he has nothing there for him anymore, so he will stay and help travelers along the way.
Worst case scenario: Akira continues to shell himself away from others and doesn't open up about his issues. The CR he makes breaks his trust even further which will just push him deeper and deeper into dislike for people. He'll feel hopeless. I really don't want this to be the direction he takes, but it just depends on what kind of CR he makes. I think the characters he interacts with will be vitally important to his development. I think he could also become a villain if he's not too careful with who influences him.
Most likely scenario: Aiming for a good outcome! I feel like this plausible even just with the people he's met on the TDM, but we won't know until it plays out which is the fun part!
3. How do they behave within a group? What role(s) do they take? Does this differ if they know and trust the group, versus finding themselves in a group of strangers? Why?
Akira used to be a passionate leader, but ever since his failures, he's taken a step back to be someone reluctant to help. Though, his instincts are still good and pure beneath that cold exterior he has built up; he will help others even if he doesn't seem happy about doing so as of now. Once he has gained someone's trust (which is extremely difficult since he has suffered so much loss and betrayal) Akira can be seen to be an unwavering protector, not wanting to go through the same pain of being unable to protect the people he cares about yet again. When a character has worked hard to be his friend and someone he can trust, you can bet Akira will self-sacrifice himself as much as he can to ensure he doesn't fail again.
4. What do they need and want out of relationships, and how do they go about getting it?
From this particular canon point, Akira needs people he can trust. He needs to be surrounded by people who can be loyal to him and not betray him because he really doesn't trust the human race. The way he will go about getting it is meeting the right kinds of people that he feels like he can open up to about his shortcomings. He will need to build numerous positive CR and out balance any negative CR he comes across that could push him closer to a darker side.
5. How do they understand the world–what kind of worldview and thought processes do they have? Why?
Akira has come to the conclusion that humanity is flawed. He has sacrificed so much to protect mankind only to have them take away the people most precious to him. He did everything he could to defend humans but in the end, it was for nothing. He's learned that war of any kind will also have consequences no matter which side wins in the end. You could say he has a very nihilistic worldview now that he feels like everyone has betrayed him or he has failed them.
6. How much do they rely on their minds and intellect, versus other approaches like relying on instinct, intuition, faith and spirituality, or emotions?
Akira is very book smart and studious. He asks a lot of questions and seems to think ahead and plan things out instead of jumping straight into the fray or acting too much on emotions. This is how he prefers things; to have a thought out plan and idea. Given a situation where he doesn't have time to think, however, Akira will abandon all hesitance to act. It more so has to do with his desire to fight and experience victory.
7. What is something others might find intolerable about them?
He can be immensely stubborn once his has his mind set on something; it's very hard to change his mind. He's also pretty closed off right now so I can see other characters being frustrating that he's wallowing in his own self pity and tragedy.
