[ Akira makes a sound, very obviously thinking this through and hurting and block head brain a little bit before he finally makes a decision. He suddenly stands and shakes the sand off of his fur and body which.. yes, is very dog like. He then offers a hand down to Megumi to assist him to his feet. ]
Okay, I’ll go with you back. I can fly us. That way you won’t be exerting anymore energy— oh, it’ll get you out of the sun quicker. Are you afraid of heights?
[ He's prideful, but he's not so prideful he won't accept a hand to help him up. Megumi takes it, rising to his feet. ]
I'm not. [ With Nue, he does have some capacity for flight - but only for short periods of time. Just as he has spent hours walking here in the treacherous sun, he'll have to spend hours walking back if he doesn't accept the demon's help. That isn't a very good time. Yet, he still tries to put up a strong front in front of the other. ]
But ... I'm able to walk. Conserve your energy. [ That's what he says, but when he lets go of Akira's hand and takes those first few steps, he needs to take a moment to steady himself from the bloodloss and exhaustion. ]
[ Akira watches him, allowing some space between them, and slowly shifts back into his monster form, keeping his wings tucked in his body for now. As Megumi takes his time moving, Akira slides up behind him, settling a large palm around his shoulder. ]
[ At the corner of his sight, he watches the transformation, finding it somewhat fascinating to watch, how the features of a regular boy (from the waist up) could morph so quickly into that of a being that fit far too easily in 'Hell'. It's probably because his attention is drawn that his guard goes down momentarily and he isn't able to stop Akira before the demon scoops him up with ease. ]
Hey! What are you doing?!
[ There's a kick of the legs against the air, and he pushes at Akira's face, but Megumi doesn't actually resist as hardly as he could despite his protests. There's a part of him that knows this is the rational decision, after all. He doesn't have the stamina to make the trip back. ]
[ Akira tenses when he feels Megumi squirm-- so lively for someone who is injured and he waits for his little tantrum to be over before replying: ]
I'll decide what's right for us right now.
[ how very alpha of him... ]
How is walking any amount of sensible when we have this option? Right?
[ The scars on his back split, and once again, a small residue of blood and body fluid is seen flicking off of the wings as they expand out. Akira definitely sees this as a damsel in distress scenario-- what would holding him like this, seeing him injured.. it delights him in some odd way. ]
Tell me how that is better and maybe I'll put you down.
[ He's certainly taken aback when the demon asserts himself, refusing to listen to Megumi's whims. It's not very often that someone takes over like this, making the decisions for him with his best interest at heart. The feeling of it is odd, but it's not entirely bad either, to shed some of that responsibility.
Of course, Megumi still has his pride. Even if the hint of bluster settles down, the look on his face is still sullen, like he still finds it humiliating to be in this position. Still, he isn't actually in the right this time, and he knows that. ]
I know it makes more sense ... [ He's prideful, but not stupid. There's a frustrated click of the tongue, but he stops shoving Akira, crossing his arms instead and looking away. There's a hint of pink over his cheeks, like he finds this an embarrassing situation to be in. It's emasculating. ]
[ That's a nice look that's becoming on Megumi, Akira thinks, but he pushes that thought out of his head and stretches his wings out a little further before taking off, tightening his hold on the other boy. ]
... You're very trusting of me, Megumi-kun. I appreciate that.
[ Seriously. To "allow" a new person to carry you into the air like this? ]
[ He is being trusting of Akira, isn't he? The fact that he's lying in his arms, several meters in the way only proves it. Megumi wonders why he let himself be in this situation. It must be because he can sense, from the demon's words and actions so far, that he isn't a bad person, and that's why he doesn't feel as guarded around him. ]
If you tried anything, I would just knock you out of the sky.
[ There's that too, a belief in his own power that's been budding recently. He doesn't have an accurate picture of the demon's strength yet, but he's confident he could put up a decent fight, even while injured.
Moving on from that, Megumi assesses the surroundings. With his good memory, he easily remembers the route, pointing towards the north. ]

It makes no sense for us both to walk.
[ He shifts, scooping Megumi up into his arms. ]
We are flying. I mostly just don’t want to walk.
[ THIS HONESTY.. ]

That way. I'll guide us.
